Oscars Best Dressed

When it comes to fashion, the Oscars is the creme de la creme. If there is any time to bring your A-game, this is it. These leading ladies wowed in gowns designed by fashion icons like Alexander McQueen and Oscar de la Renta. Take a look at these trendsetting celebs!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture

Jennifer Lawrence had a big night at the Oscars this year. She won Best Lead Actress, was one of the best dressed celebrities there, and of course, fell down the stairs. If there is one person who could bounce back from something like that so quickly, it is Jennifer Lawrence. She looked so stunning in this dress that I don’t think anyone even noticed she fell.

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen

Amanda Seyfried never fails to look absolutely gorgeous. I mean seriously, look at her! She looks like an angel! It’s hard to pull off such a light colored dress when you have pale skin and blonde hair, but man did she pull it off!

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta

Enchanted flashback! She should have worn this dress in the movie, she looks like a Princess.

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani

I’m obsessed! I’ve never seen a neckline like this before-it’s so unique and eyecatching. I definitely wouldn’t mind finding something in Forever 21 with this neckline!

Maria Menuonos in Romona Keveza

While Maria isn’t on most people’s best dressed list, I couldn’t help but add her to mine just because of the color of that dress and the fact that it fits her like a glove. If I had a body like that I would wear a skin tight dress too!

Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan

The intricacy of this dress is just too amazing to ignore. It must have taken them forever to make it, and good thing too because she looks stunning.

Charlize Theron in Dior Couture

Was everyone else as shocked by Charlize’s hair as I was? Thankfully for her she is pretty much the most beautiful person in the world and would look good with any hairstyle. I love the simplicity of this dress and the fact that she didn’t wear a necklace with it-very classy.

Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive

At first I wasn’t going to add Jessica to the list, but who am I kidding? She looks gorgeous. The color of her dress with her hair and skin tone could have gone terribly wrong, but somehow she managed to pull it off-I’m guessing magic.

And as an added bonus, Worst Dressed at the Oscar’s goes to ....drumroll please….
Anne Hathaway!

I am literally one of Anne’s biggest fans, and it kills me to say this, but she looked awful! The dress gave her absolutely no shape, the color completely washes her out, the necklace looked awkward with such a high neckline, and the back was so prom-y. Oh and did I mention her nipples!? Maybe it is just the way the dress is sewn, but it still looks pretty bad. You’d think if you were nominated for an Oscar you would bring your A-game…better luck next year, Anne!

DIY Christmas Ornament

This DIY Christmas Ornament is super easy and you only need three things to make it!

Materials:
Clear plastic ornament (I got mine from Michael’s for $1!)
Stickers
Spray paint (any color you want!)

STEP 1: Place the stickers where you want on your ornament. You can use any type of stickers you’d like! I chose to use letter stickers to spell out my last name, Baker, which thankfully is only five letters because it just barelllyyyy fit.

STEP 2: Put newspaper down on your driveway/sidewalk so you don’t make a mess. If you don’t have newspaper you can get creative like I did and use your college essays instead. No worries, it was the last day of the semester!

STEP 3: Spray paint the crap out of it! Since it’s an ornament it’s going to roll around…lucky for you I’m a genius and figured out a way to paint it so this didn’t happen. Take off the little silver claspy thing on the ornament (does anybody know what that’s called??) and put something inside that you can hold it up with. At this time I wasn’t much of a genius and I used my finger and got spray paint all over my hand. But now that I’m smarter I know to use something like a stick next time.

STEP 4: Peel off the stickers! If there are any places where the spray paint got underneath the stickers, use a toothpick to gently scrape it off…and you’re done!!! I told you it would be easy :)

Now go hang your new ornament on the tree and enjoy!!

The perfect faux leather boots!

It gets hard to shop for boots when you’re a vegetarian and a college student. All the boots are either made of leather or are ridiculously expensive! Is it too much to ask for someone to design cute inexpensive vegan friendly boots?! Every pair I found that I liked were over $100 and of course, made with leather! I was not going to give up on finding my perfect pair of boots, so I searched everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Finally I found a pair of adorable brown combat boots from Journey's. I have never even been inside Journey’s and I always thought it was just a skateboarding shop, but boy was I wrong. Here are the boots I bought…adorable right??

Madden Girl Trixie Boot in Cognac

These $54 boots were a little pricier than I would normally pay for shoes (hey, I’m a college student!) but I wear them all the time! They are super comfortable, go with practically everything, and they’re vegan friendly! You can buy them online at http://www.undergroundbyjourneys.com or at your local Journey’s store. Good luck shopping!

15 Celebrity Vegetarians

So I was scrolling through the TV channels the other night looking for something to take my mind off of my final exams, and I came across a special about the Top 10 Weddings of 2012. Shallow, I know, but I was in desperate need of a break from Microbiology. By the way, Blake and Ryan had police officers confiscate their guests cell phones upon their arrival-a little dramatic don’t ya think? Anyway! I noticed that the majority of the weddings served Vegetarian food! Yep, that’s right! Even though these celebrities have millions of dollars to spend on Steaks and Lobsters, they chose to serve food like veggie burgers, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. So that led me to do a little research on Celebrity Vegetarians. I was shocked to find out how many of my favorite stars are meat-free! Check out my favorite 15 below!
